Evidence tiers used on this page

  • Verified in-game · 游戏已验证

Confirmed through gameplay, official releases or screenshots from the current build.

  • Officially previewed · 官方预告

Announced or shown by the official channels, but not live in the game yet.

  • Novel lore · 小说背景

Background from the original novel. Not a current game mechanic.

  • Pending verification · 待核验

Information we could not confirm — listed for completeness, never presented as fact.

What Are Sequences?

Every Beyonder belongs to one of the 22 pathways, and each pathway holds ten sequences numbered from 9 down to 0. Sequence 9 is the entry rank; Sequence 0 is the final stage of that pathway. In-game, your sequence is your advancement track: all six playable pathways open at Sequence 9, and every promotion is permanent and irreversible.

Sequence 9 is the only playable rung in the current build. Sequences 8 and above exist as official previews, and sixteen pathways remain sealed with no records at all.

Potion Advancement in the Game

Promotion is potion-driven. Each rung requires gathering materials, brewing and drinking the sequence potion — then digesting it before the next rank. Every claim below carries an evidence tag; anything we could not confirm is marked pending verification (待核验) instead of being presented as fact.

Confirmed in-game

Verified in-game · 游戏已验证
  1. 01

One rung at a time, no skipping

You advance Sequence 9 → 8 → 7 and so on in order. Sequences cannot be skipped, and every promotion follows the same fixed flow.

  2. 02

    Gather, brew, drink

The promotion flow is fixed: collect the required materials, brew the potion, then consume it. Drinking without the right preparation is exactly how players lose control.

  3. 03

    Digestion via roleplay tasks

A freshly drunk potion must be digested. The game implements digestion as roleplay tasks tied to your sequence — low digestion progress blocks the next promotion and invites distortion.

  4. 04

    A ceremony at the threshold

Ranking up also requires a ceremony at the threshold of the next sequence. In the current build you cannot advance without it.

  5. 05

    Sanity is the real resource

Dungeons and corrupted enemies drain Sanity; at zero you lose control and drop stats. Always carry Calming Potions before hard content.

  1. 06

    Per-sequence ingredient lists

The exact ingredient lists for each sequence potion are not confirmed at the time of writing. Treat any circulated 'recipe' as unverified until it can be sourced in-game.

  2. 07

    Material sources and costs

Where each material drops, its market value and the cost of brewing all still need to be verified before they can be published as guide facts.

  3. 08

    Sequences 8 and above

Materials and mechanics above Sequence 9 are previewed, not live. Everything beyond the first rung may change before it reaches the game.

The Acting Method (扮演法)

The acting method is the most misunderstood idea among newcomers, because the novel and the game implement it differently. Below: what the game actually does, and what remains novel lore.

In-game: roleplay tasks

Verified in-game · 游戏已验证

The game turns acting into roleplay tasks — quest-style objectives that digest your current potion. Completing them raises digestion; ignoring them blocks promotion and raises corruption risk. This is the verified, live implementation.

In the novel: a way of life

Novel lore · 小说背景

In the novel, acting is a survival discipline: continuous roleplay of your sequence's name, mental alignment with your sequence, and — at higher sequences — elaborate rituals. It explains where the game's task system came from, but none of the novel's mystical details are current game mechanics.

Do not mistake lore for mechanics

Novel lore · 小说背景

Anything about acting rituals or ceremonies that you cannot find in the game belongs to the novel. It is background colour, not a step in your promotion path.

Common Beginner Mistakes

Five failures we see most often in new-player reports — every one of them avoidable.

  1. 01

Hoarding materials for a 'better' pathway

Your first pathway is a long-term identity, not a draft pick. One free reset exists within your first 7 days; after that, switching only opens at high sequences. Hoarding for a path you never start helps nobody.

  2. 02

    Drinking before digesting

Advancing while the previous potion is undigested keeps raising corruption risk. The dependable order is roleplay tasks first, potion second.

  3. 03

    Ignoring Sanity

Sanity is an economy of its own. Walking into dungeons without Calming Potions turns every corrupted elite into a wipe and lost stats.

  4. 04

    Carrying too many Sealed Artifacts

You may equip at most three Sealed Artifacts, and each one builds madness. For a newcomer, the right number is one.

  5. 05

    Trusting circulated 'recipes'

Most ingredient lists circulating online are novel lore or guesses. Farm only what you have verified in-game or in official announcements.

The Six Playable Pathways

Each launch pathway dossier covers its potion line, roleplay tasks and early progression. Start from the sequence that fits the role you want to play.

Sequence & Potion FAQ

Q1.Are all 22 pathways in the game at launch?
No. Six pathways are playable at launch; the other sixteen are sealed records. The pathway wheel marks every sealed path, and sealed records are not accessible in the current build.
Q2.Can I skip a sequence or change pathways?
Sequences cannot be skipped. For pathways: you get one free reset within the first 7 days; after that window, changing pathways is a late-game, high-sequence mechanic with its own strict rules.
Q3.Is the acting method from the novel actually in the game?
Partially. The game implements digestion as roleplay tasks — that part is real and live. The novel's acting lore, with its rituals and way-of-life roleplay, is background, not mechanics.
Q4.What happens if my potion is not digested?
Your next promotion is locked and corruption risk keeps climbing; combined with low Sanity this leads to losing control and dropping stats. Finish the current sequence's roleplay tasks first.
Q5.Where do potion ingredients drop?
Exact drop sources are pending verification. The pathway dossiers record what is confirmed so far; treat anything else as unverified until it is sourced from the game.
