Lord of Mysteries Auto Chess Match Walkthrough (2026)
Rules pages tell you what Fool's Chess is. This page shows what it actually looks like to play one: a complete eight-player match recorded without commentary, walked screen by screen from the round 1/1 watermark to a first-place settlement.
Every label quoted here was read off a frame at native resolution, and each step deep-links to the exact second so you can check us. Mode rules, the launch date and the published piece, resonance, talent and equipment counts live on the Fool's Chess rules page — this walkthrough links to them instead of repeating them.
Verification rule
[unverified] / 〔待核验〕 marks a detail the footage or cited sources could not confirm — the marker stays inline so you know exactly which claims to double-check.

Reading the screen before round one
These five regions stay on screen for the whole match. Their labels were read from the frame above at native resolution; the Chinese term is given first because the recording is of the CN client.
- Phase banner
- Top centre, under the round number. The recording shows five states: 准备环节, 试炼回合, 对弈回合, 对战环节 and 战斗加时.
- Round number
- Top bar, left of the emblem row, written stage-hyphen-round — 1-1, 2-6, 5-6 in this match. The large translucent pair on the board is a separate counter.
- Resonance list
- Upper left. Each row is one resonance (共鸣) with its active count and its tier thresholds, for example 塔罗会 3 with 2/3/4.
- Player roster
- Right edge, eight rows. Health starts at 100, a green check marks a round won and a red minus shows the damage taken.
- Shop and experience
- Bottom corners. 购买经验 costs 4 gold on the left; the 商会 shop button and its gold total sit bottom right.
One match, screen by screen
What this recording settles — and what it doesn't
- ◆The shop publishes its own rarity odds — 19% / 30% / 40% / 10% / 1% is readable on screen at level 7, and 刷新 costs 2 gold.
- ◆Resonance thresholds are visible in-game for every resonance you hold — the panel shows the tier numbers, not what each tier grants.
- ◆The talent draft banner reads 'to empower a piece', which is the first in-game wording on the talent ownership question.
- ◆A piece shows three equipment slots, and a 已售出 card proves pieces come from a finite shared pool.
- ◆One 30-minute capture covers a full match from round 1/1 to first place, but it is one match — no win rates, no tier list.
- ◆Queue, patch notes and the official content counts belong to the Fool's Chess rules page; nothing here restates them.

Getting into a match (not captured)
Watch from 0:01This recording starts after the queue: the first usable frame is already on the board — the round watermark reads 0/1 at one second in and 1/1 by five — so the lobby, the rank badge shown at queue time and any pre-match team screen are uncaptured here, and this step is deliberately text-only. What the mode's matchmaking window, solo and party rules and rank protection actually are is settled on the Fool's Chess rules page, which cites the launch announcements — read that first, then come back for the screens.

Round 1-2: everybody levels at once
By 1-2 the eight roster rows on the right all carry the same 等级提升 Level 2 flag, which is what a shared economy looks like from the inside — nobody is ahead on level yet. The player has bought a piece, 巨斧骑士, and it is waiting on the bench strip along the bottom rather than standing on the board. The 购买经验 button prints its own price, 4 gold, and the corner badge reads level 2 with 0/2 experience toward the next one.

Round 1-2, 试炼回合. Eight Level 2 flags, 巨斧骑士 on the bench, 0/2 experience at level 2.Watch from 0:40 - 03
Round 2-1: the first talent draft
A banner appears across the board — 请从以下天赋中选择一个用于强化棋子, 'choose one of the following talents to empower a piece' — over three purple cards: 惊喜礼包 (randomly gain pieces worth 12 gold, including at least one 3-cost piece), 勤学笔记 (gain 8 experience now and 1 extra each round afterwards) and 战备工坊 (gain one sealed equipment chest). Each card has its own 刷新 button, and a 选择天赋 button sits bottom right. This is the frame that shows talents are drafted as a three-way choice with per-card rerolls.

Talent draft at 2-1. Note the per-card refresh icon and the sealed-equipment-chest option.Watch from 2:45 - 04
Round 2-6: the resonance panel, with its thresholds
战斗加时 (combat overtime), and the upper-left list now holds seven resonances, each with an active count and its tier thresholds: 塔罗会 3 (2/3/4), 远击 3 (2/4/6), 神弃之地 2 (2/4/6), 坚壁 1 (1/2), 疾猎 1 (1/2), 噬血 1 (1/2) and 五月庄园 1 (1/3). The threshold numbers are on screen; what each tier actually grants is not — the panel does not spell the effects out here. On the right, two players take round damage in the same second (-3 and -6) while three win outright, which is how the health race becomes visible.

Round 2-6, combat overtime. Seven resonances listed with thresholds; four pieces on the bench.Watch from 9:00 - 05
Round 3-2: a talent draft you can read in full
The same three-card layout, now in blue, with complete effect text: 命运引荐 (gain one random 2-cost piece, then another copy of it every time you level up), 败局笔记 (gain 2 experience when a duel round is lost, plus 1 more while on a losing streak) and 孤行之护 (at combat start, a piece with no adjacent ally gains a shield worth 20% of its maximum health for 10 seconds). Two of the three are economy talents and one is a positioning talent — the draft mixes those categories rather than offering one of each.

Talent draft at 3-2. Defeat Notes is the only losing-streak compensation visible in this recording.Watch from 11:05 - 06
Round 4-7: the shop, its costs and its published odds
Opening the shop — 商会 — shows five pieces side by side, each with its resonance tags and its cost in gold: 子爵夫人 at 2, a 4-cost card labelled "结头", 魅欲女妖 at 2, 巨剑骑士 at 3 and "剥面人"强尼 at 2, the same Faceless Johnny this site has a dungeon guide for. Underneath them the client prints the shop's own rarity distribution — 19% / 30% / 40% / 10% / 1%, one colour per cost tier — with a 下级概率 (next-tier odds) magnifier beside it. 锁定 (L) freezes the shop across a refresh; 刷新 costs 2 gold on the D key. This is the level 7 row, so treat the numbers as that level's, not a universal curve.

Shop at 4-7, level 7. Five priced offers, the odds row, 锁定 and a 2-gold 刷新.Watch from 24:15 - 07
Round 5-1: the equipment choice
A timed panel drops over the board — 装备选择, 31 seconds — with the instruction 拖动装备自选箱至售卖区,开启后可从候选装备中选择1件: drag the equipment choice box to the sell area, then pick one item from the candidates. Five extraordinary objects are offered, each with two stat lines and a one-line effect: 荣耀之证 (+10% attack, +10 defence, stacks on kills), 飓风之斧, 秘术扉页, 暴君面具 (+25 defence, +200 health) and 破空长枪 (+50% attack range). Under each card is a short row of piece portraits marked with a thumbs-up badge; the UI never labels that row, so its meaning is unknown.

Equipment selection at 5-1. Note the two stat lines and the one-line effect on every card.Watch from 25:07 - 08
Round 5-1, seconds later: sold out and upgradable
Refreshing the shop returns a different row in which the 1-cost 弓箭骑士 is stamped 已售出 (sold out), and the top offer carries a 可升级 badge with two stars on it. A card can run out while the shop is still open, and the client tells you when buying one more copy would upgrade the piece you already hold. Together those two labels are the clearest in-game evidence in this recording that pieces come from a finite shared pool rather than an infinite one.

Same round, after a refresh. 弓箭骑士 sold out; the top card flagged upgradable to two stars.Watch from 25:21 - 09
Round 5-1: level seven, seven deployed
The board watermark now reads 7/7 and the level badge in the corner reads 7. In both this frame and the round 1/1 opening frame the watermark's second number equals the level badge, so the pair is most likely deployed pieces over deployment cap — but the UI never spells the watermark out, so that stays an inference. The 一键装备 (one-click equip) button has appeared bottom left, which is the shortcut that hands pending equipment to pieces without dragging.

Level 7, 8/60 experience, the 商会 button reading 4. The left column now lists owned pieces with their items.Watch from 25:30 - 10
Round 5-3: reading a fight
Combat resolves in the middle of the board with floating numbers — crit hits marked 暴击 for 31 and 3 — and one roster row takes 16 damage in the same second, falling to 6 health. A 13连胜 badge sits above the roster, and the bench is completely full at eight slots, which is what a hoarded late-game economy looks like. Nothing in this frame says which fight the player was paired into; that is a separate tag, shown further down at round 5-6.

Round 5-3. Bench full at eight slots, streak badge at 13, one opponent down to 6 health.Watch from 28:00 - 11
The piece inspector: stats, three slots, and the pool counter
Inspecting the 5-cost piece 特莉丝 opens a panel with her cost, her size (1 格, one tile), her role (近战刺客, melee assassin), three resonances, 1384 health, 0/80 energy and a stat grid — 71 attack, 46 defence, 35% attack speed, 165% crit chance, 0%, 80, 6, 0.60 — plus her skill 绝望黑焰. Below that are exactly three equipment slots, one filled by 荣耀之证, whose own tooltip gives +10% attack, +10 defence and its special effect in full. The last line is the one worth reading: 棋库剩余本棋棋子数 9/10, copies of this piece still left in the pool.

The pool counter is the clearest first-party number in this recording — but it is one piece, at one moment.Watch from 28:10 - 12
The eight-platform wheel
A separate full-screen view replaces the board with a ring of eight star-marked platforms around a central disc, with named pieces standing on them and a 回到棋盘 (return to board) button bottom right. What this view is for is not stated anywhere on screen: it could be a pairing overview, a spectating hub or a settlement review. The recording shows the layout and the piece names, and that is as far as an honest read goes, so no function is claimed for it here.

Round 5-4. Eight ringed platforms, a central disc, and no on-screen label explaining the view.Watch from 28:15 - 13
Round 5-6: the pairing tag
During the 对战环节 (battle phase) the roster on the right puts a 本局对手 badge with a number beside one player's row, who is at 6 health — the only explicit pairing indicator captured in this recording. The nine resonances on the left now top out at 塔罗会 6 (5/6/7), and the player's own health has dropped to 78. This answers 'who am I fighting this round' on screen; it does not show how the opponent was chosen.

Round 5-6, 对战环节. The pairing is announced by a tag, not by a screen of its own.Watch from 30:15 - 14
Settlement: first place
The match ends on a result screen: 第1名 (first place), rank 男爵四阶, 600 胜点 victory points after a gain of 300. Under 我的战绩 it lists the 上阵棋子 pieces that were fielded with their star levels, the 激活共鸣 resonances that were active with their counts (6, 2, 2) and the 获得天赋 talents that were taken. 再来一盘 and 退出 sit bottom right with a 详细数据 button bottom left. That is the whole loop in one frame — pieces, resonances and talents are the three things the game scores you on.

Settlement after 5-6. Eight fielded pieces, three active resonances, three talents, +300 victory points.Watch from 30:40
What this recording does and does not confirm
The Fool's Chess rules page carries a pending-verification ledger. Four of its open questions are gated on in-game screenshots, and this match is the first one this site has. Each row below names the frame, the question it touches, and — just as importantly — the part it leaves open.
Shop refresh cost and rarity odds
1455sThe shop at level 7 prints 19% / 30% / 40% / 10% / 1% and a 刷新 button costing 2 gold, so the client does disclose odds in-game.
Only one level is captured. The odds curve at levels 1-6 and 8+ is not shown, and no per-tier piece distribution is stated.
Resonance thresholds and effects
540sThirteen resonances appear across the match with their tier thresholds written out — 塔罗会 2/3/4 up to 5/6/7, 坚壁 1/2, 五月庄园 1/3.
The panel never shows what a tier grants. No effect numbers, no stacking rules, and 28 of the announced resonances are not all covered.
Talent ownership layer and how talents are picked
165sThe draft banner reads 请从以下天赋中选择一个用于强化棋子 — 'to empower a piece' — and each of the three cards has its own refresh button.
'Empower a piece' is UI wording, not a rules document; the settlement screen lists talents without attaching them to a piece, so per-piece versus per-player is still not proven.
Equipment carry limit and acquisition
1690sThe piece inspector shows exactly three equipment slots, and the 装备选择 panel states that one item is picked per opened choice box.
No combining or crafting screen appears, and nothing shows whether two pieces can hold the same item. Duplicates stay unverified.
Shared piece pool
1521sA card can read 已售出 while the shop is open, and the inspector prints 棋库剩余本棋棋子数 9/10 for a 5-cost piece.
One counter at one moment for one piece. Total pool sizes per cost tier are never shown, so no pull-count claim follows.
Match length and round structure
1840sRounds are numbered stage-hyphen-round and this capture runs 1-1 through 5-6 to a first-place settlement inside 30 minutes 43 seconds.
The recording could have been trimmed and we cannot rule that out, so treat 30:43 as an upper bound from one game, not a match duration.
Rank and victory points
1840sSettlement shows 男爵四阶 at 600 胜点 after +300, which is first-party evidence the rank ladder and point gains are live in matches.
Nothing here describes how points are computed per placement, and the ladder above Viscount is not shown.
Queue, lobby and trial-event missions
1sNothing — the recording starts after the queue and never opens an event screen.
Matchmaking hours, party rules and the Chess Trial window are settled on the rules page from official announcements, not here.
Green rows are informed by a frame on this page. They are not closed: a screenshot shows a number, it does not show a rule. Anything beyond what is printed stays on the pending ledger.

Lord of Mysteries 1.2 Update: New Auto Chess Mode Explained
Used only for framing: what version 1.2 added and when it went live. Every number it cites — pieces, resonances, talents, extraordinary objects — is kept on the rules page rather than restated here.
All fourteen screens are captures of the Raxari recording above, published with the creator's footage-free-to-use permission and credited in the source card. Every frame is cropped 30 pixels off the bottom edge to remove a small burned-in portrait the uploader keeps in that corner for the whole video; no other part of any frame was altered, and no frame is published from a region the creator overlaid. Chinese labels are quoted as they appear on the CN client.
Questions this page can and cannot answer
- Q1.Is Lord of Mysteries auto chess the same as Fool's Chess?
- Yes — Fool's Chess is the mode's name in the CN client, and auto chess is what players and search call it. The rules page uses the same pair of names and lists the official content counts.
- Q2.What does the shop rarity row 19% 30% 40% 10% 1% mean?
- It is the client's own display of how often each cost tier appears in the shop at the level shown — level 7 in this capture. It is not a win rate and it is not the same at every level, because only level 7 was recorded.
- Q3.Can you tell me the best Fool's Chess composition?
- No, and this page will not invent one. Four community compositions are listed with links on the rules page; a strength ranking would need reproducible samples across many matches, and one recording is not a sample.
- Q4.How many equipment slots does a piece have?
- Three. The piece inspector in this recording shows one filled slot and two empty ones, and the 装备选择 panel offers one item per opened choice box.
- Q5.Do pieces come from a shared pool?
- The frames say so in two independent ways: a shop card can read 已售出 while the shop is still open, and the inspector prints copies of that piece remaining in the pool as 9/10.
- Q6.Is there a queue or lobby screen shown here?
- No. The recording begins after the queue, so step 1 is text-only and points at the rules page for matchmaking hours, party rules and rank protection.
