Lord of Mysteries Ancestor Armor Boss Guide (2026)

The Ancestor Armor (先祖铠甲) is the second boss of the May Manor · Garden raid, and the English client prints that exact string on its nameplate and its quest tracker. It is the most positioning-honest fight in the wing: nothing here is a gear check until the last third, and every death before that comes from standing where you already saw something land.

Everything below is built from two recordings of one Normal-difficulty CN-server clear — Raxari's silent 8:06 footage for the frames, M Y A N E E's 8:26 walkthrough for the spoken rules. Raxari's own video title calls this boss "Ancestral Armor"; the client itself says "Ancestor Armor", so that is what this page uses. Every number is one creator's measurement at one patch, and the global release may move it.

[unverified] / 〔待核验〕 marks a detail the footage or cited sources could not confirm — the marker stays inline so you know exactly which claims to double-check.

Step-by-step Ancestor Armor playbook

Golden rules before you pull

  • ◆Place two ground marks before you attack — every later split keys off them.
  • ◆One creator's working number is 11,000 DPS on the main manor dummy, and it bites at the shield break, not the pull.
  • ◆Orange circles are shared damage: one group per mark, and crossing groups is correct when both marks land together.
  • ◆Stage two opens at 60% HP — the CN bar flipped to the knight's own name at exactly 60.0%.
  • ◆Any hit you take costs roughly 70% of your HP, so this is a positioning fight, not a survivability fight.
  • ◆The final gate is a healing check, not a kill: both horsemen stay at full HP or the raid wipes.

Learn both names before you read a raid posting

The encounter bar and the quest tracker both print the title — Ancestor Armor, 先祖铠甲 on the CN client. The intro card at 0:28 in Raxari's footage prints the knight himself: 伯德温·威瑟尔, which the English client renders as Baldwin Wetherell. Raid postings and kill logs use the two interchangeably, and the manor loading screen lists this as the second of three bosses in the Garden wing, sized 10~12 players with a recommended rating of 48020.

Set your reference marks before the boss is engaged

M Y A N E E's first instruction is to set up two ground marks before you start attacking, because every later split keys off them. At 0:56 Raxari's footage shows the payoff: numbered diamond markers planted around the ballroom, the boss bar at 90.8%, and the raid-wide 即将狂暴 berserk clock already running at 7:29. M Y A N E E is explicit that the marks do not have to sit in the exact spots from his video — their job is to give each half of the raid a default destination.

Test the roster on the main manor dummy first

Before you commit a night to this: M Y A N E E's rule is that the whole team should hold at least 11,000 DPS on the main manor dummy, and the reason is late rather than early — "or you might be struggling to break his shield later." Treat 11,000 as one creator's working threshold on Normal difficulty at one CN patch, not an official gate. If your group sits under it, steps 12 and 13 are exactly where the run dies.

Read the red lanes as delayed, not instant

Raxari's own burned-in summary card opens with "Avoid Red, care of delayed attacks", and at 1:35 his footage shows why: long crimson strips fanned across the floor while spectral riders charge along them. The strip marks the path, not the moment — damage lands a beat after the rider clears it, so stepping straight back into a lane you just watched empty is the classic death here. One player at the bottom of the frame carries a red orb overhead: the game flagging who is next.

Split into two groups and soak the orange four to a circle

This is the mechanic both sources agree on, and the client says it out loud. M Y A N E E: before the orange-target attack, split the team in two — one group always goes to mark one, the second to mark two, and if the boss marks two players inside the same group, someone has to cross to the other team's mark. The banner at 2:08 carries the same order in the CN client: 分开两组,靠近被标记的队友,共同承担伤害!— split into two groups, move to the marked teammates, share the damage. His failure note is blunt: if two players are not in the right spot during this attack, the other four in that group are at risk.

    Never take a gold circle

One rule is spoken and never labelled on screen. M Y A N E E: "you cannot take the gold circles because you'll get marked" — and an unplanned mark wrecks the group split above. 〔待核验〕 We could not isolate a clean frame of the gold circles in either recording; at a glance they read too much like the orange soak circles in step 5 to publish a near-miss screenshot and call it the same thing. Learn the two colours in your own raid view before you trust this page's picture of the fight.

The stack spawns a horseman — stack where melee can still reach

When two or three of your party members get targeted, M Y A N E E says the boss "will spawn a horseman to ride outwards damaging anyone in its way", so the targeted players have to stack in a spot where your melee can still hit the boss. At 2:44 the CN footage shows an add wave arriving as a line of spectral mounted riders along the right edge of the arena, boss at 62.7%. 〔待核验〕 Those riders carry no on-screen label; calling this exact wave the horseman is our reading of the frame, not a game tooltip.

Stage two is announced by a cutscene, not a bar colour

M Y A N E E: "You'll know that it is the second stage when this cutscene starts to play. The boss will start to ride up first and start moving around the map making him harder to hit." The cutscene at 3:08 is the frame to memorise — the knight mounting with a lance against a red moon, captioned "主宰者" 伯德温·威瑟尔. For a few seconds stop reading telegraphs and simply do not stand in anything new.

The 60% threshold, confirmed against the client

This is the one number on the page we checked in the game rather than trusting a voiceover. M Y A N E E puts stage two at 60% HP. In Raxari's CN recording the bar reads 先祖铠甲 61.3% at 2:52, then 伯德温·威瑟尔 60.0% at 3:12 — the encounter title is replaced by the knight's own name the moment the mount lands. Two clients, two recordings, same threshold, so we publish it without a 〔待核验〕 marker.

When the edge corrupts, collapse to the centre

At 4:40 the CN client prints its own positional order: 场地边缘即将被污染,非凡者快回场地中央!— the arena edge is about to be corrupted, get back to the centre. Red wedges are already radiating out of the mounted boss in the same frame and the berserk clock is down to 3:45. 〔待核验〕 This points inward, while M Y A N E E puts the tank in a corner and Raxari's card says the tank should rotate around the borders. When they disagree, the live banner wins.

Phase three spikes are permanent floor loss

M Y A N E E's phase-three rule decides whether a wipe is recoverable: when the boss runs towards the centre, kite him to a corner, "because he will spawn spikes around him every 10 seconds. Those spikes are a permanent loss to your team's dodging space, so be careful." At 5:36 the footage shows two of those pools already blooming, a named 长戟兵 (Halberdier) add on the left and a mounted rider crossing on the right, boss at 30.2%.

Break the shield — the game says who owes the damage

This is what the dummy check in step 3 was for. At 6:00 the CN client puts the order on screen in two lines: 一阶及以上骑士前往交锋处对决!and 集火击破威瑟尔护盾,帮助对决获胜!— the ranked-up knights go to the duel, everyone else focuses Wetherell's shield. M Y A N E E describes the same split as whoever took the orb entering the dual area while the rest stay on the boss, and warns that you may want only one orb because "you'll need as much DPS as you can to break his shield."

The reverse-horseman healing check ends more runs than the boss does

The hardest gate is inverted: instead of killing the adds, your healers have to keep both horsemen topped up. M Y A N E E: "This is the reverse horseman test of the raid. Your healers need to heal both horseman till full HP or your team will be wiped here," and he adds that a third healer who knows how to switch targets is genuinely helpful. The CN client announces it at 6:32 with 治疗荣耀,唤醒灵魂。— heal the glory, awaken the soul — over a red-glowing mount at the left edge of the frame.

The last quarter is phase one again, with less floor

Pass the heal and nothing new appears. M Y A N E E: "All you have to do here is repeat the phase one mechanics and hope that you have enough DPS to finish the boss." At 7:30 the boss sits at 3.9% with the berserk clock at 0:55, three riders crossing the middle, spike pools on the left and two players each wrapped in a gold shield effect — one a starburst bubble, one a square frame. Every call from the first two minutes still applies while the floor is this crowded.

The kill, and what to read afterwards

The clear closes on its own cinematic at 7:48 — the armour slumped, captioned 结束了…… ("it is over"). Neither recording shows a loot or damage-recap panel after it, so use your own post-kill summary for the only two numbers that matter next attempt: whether the shield broke inside its window, and which healer let a horseman drop.

Lord of the Mysteries CN | 12 Player Raid: Ancestor Armor Mechanics

Recorded by M Y A N E EWatch Full Video

Raxari's recording (8:06, uploaded 2026-09-13) carries no narration, so every frame on this page was matched to a mechanic by looking at it, and each step's timestamp lands on the picture beneath it. M Y A N E E's recording (8:26, uploaded 2026-08-27) carries the English commentary that supplies the thresholds, the phase order and the failure states; the two text-only steps deep-link into it because neither recording shows those mechanics on screen. Raxari's uploads burn a strategy card across the first 15 seconds and a small portrait into the bottom-left corner for the rest of the run — no frame here comes from before 0:16, and every frame is cropped to 1920x1030 to drop the portrait. All Chinese strings quoted on this page were read at native resolution from the client, and the English is ours.

Wing name (EN)
The CN loading screen prints 五月庄园·花园 with 10~12人 and a recommended rating of 48020. We verified the EN client's boss nameplate and quest tracker, but not its translation of the wing name, so treat "May Manor · Garden" as our reading of the CN string.
Gold circles
Rule, threshold and consequence all come from narration alone. No clean frame was captured, and the orange soak circles look similar enough that we will not publish a frame we cannot vouch for.
Tank anchor point
Three sources disagree. M Y A N E E kites to a corner; Raxari's burned-in card says the tank should rotate around the borders when the arena sinks; the CN banner at 4:40 sends everyone back to the centre. They may describe three different moments — we could not separate them.
Server and mode
Both recordings are Normal difficulty on the CN server at the August–September 2026 patch. The 11,000 dummy check, the 70% hit size and the 60% threshold are one creator's measurements, not design targets, and the global release may retune them.

Frequently asked questions

Q1.What is the Ancestor Armor in Lord of Mysteries?
The second boss of the May Manor · Garden raid, a mounted ancestral knight whose English-client nameplate and quest tracker both read "Ancestor Armor" (CN: 先祖铠甲). Its personal name is Baldwin Wetherell (伯德温·威瑟尔), which the bar switches to at 60% HP when stage two starts.
Q2.What DPS do we need to kill the Ancestor Armor?
M Y A N E E's working number is at least 11,000 DPS per player on the main manor dummy before you pull. It is not an entry gate that stops the fight starting — it is what keeps the phase-three shield break inside its window. Treat it as one creator's CN-server, Normal-difficulty measurement rather than an official requirement.
Q3.How do you pass the Ancestor Armor healing check?
Do not kill both horsemen. The check asks your healers to keep both horsemen at full HP while the rest of the raid continues on the boss, and the CN client prompts it with 治疗荣耀,唤醒灵魂。A third healer who can switch targets cleanly is the difference between passing and wiping at 20% boss health.
Q4.Why does the Ancestor Armor boss name change mid-fight?
Because the bar shows two different things. Before stage two it carries the encounter title, Ancestor Armor / 先祖铠甲. The stage-two cutscene mounts the boss and the bar renames to his personal name, Baldwin Wetherell / 伯德温·威瑟尔 — we watched it flip at exactly 60.0% in the CN client.
Q5.Is the May Manor raid 10 players or 12?
The manor loading screen in Raxari's footage prints 10~12人 against a 12-slot party panel, so the wing accepts ten to twelve. Both source videos title it as a 12-player raid, and M Y A N E E's group split assumes two groups of four, which only works at eight or more players inside the raid.
Q6.Is this the Ancestor Armor or the Ancestral Armor?
The client string is Ancestor Armor — we read it off the boss bar and the "Defeat the Ancestor Armor" objective in an English-client recording. Raxari's video title spells it "Ancestral Armor", which is where that variant comes from, so search results and raid posts mix the two. This page indexes both but publishes the client's spelling.
