Verification rule

* = pending verification (待核验) — community-reported detail, cross-checked against CN guides on 2026-08-26, not yet confirmed in-game. No drop rate, cost, or reward quantity on these pages is cited as an exact figure.

Applies to the CN Open Beta released on 2026-08-21. Mechanics can change between patches; anything marked * (待核验) is not yet confirmed against in-game data.

TERMINOLOGY NOTE

宠物 or 秘偶?

Search any CN guide site — including this one — and you will find 宠物养成 (pet cultivation) everywhere. That is the community name. In-game, the official term is 秘偶 (marionette): a combat companion bound through 灵体之线 (Spirit Body Threads) and rooted in the Seer path's Sequence 5, the Marionettist. Both names describe the same system; official text uses 秘偶.

It behaves like a pet: it follows you in the open world, levels up, and fights beside you. It is not a cosmetic pet: marionettes are bound to non-living vessels, can step in as a substitute (替身) in combat, and — for novel fidelity — while you control one you receive fragments of its memories and death obsessions, and sustained control taxes your mind. Working around that limit is part of the system, not a bug.

So when a CN headline promises a 宠物养成攻略, read: marionette cultivation. This page uses 秘偶 and marionette throughout, and notes the pet name wherever it appears in guides.

Unlock conditions

Community guides agree on the shape: the system opens through the main story. At the 秘偶之眼 (Marionette's Eye) node you follow a perception route tied to a special item and receive the 灵视 (Spirit Vision) skill, which enables remote control and consciousness sync with a vessel.

The storyline grants your first units, so the early main line doubles as the tutorial. Anything more precise than "main story, early-to-mid game" — the exact level, quest index, or unlock prompt — is not confirmed. Mark it as pending verification.

* Exact unlock level and quest node: community-reported only — pending verification (待核验).

Resources involved

The acquisition channels below are consistently reported; the numbers attached to them — rates, quantities, costs — are open questions.

Story grants

The first marionettes arrive as main-story rewards. Free and reliable, they form the baseline roster while you decide where to invest.

Tarot-card draws

The draw interface deals Tarot cards whose components unlock marionettes. Rates and pity rules are community-reported only — pending verification (待核验).

Fragment synthesis

Collected fragments synthesize specific marionettes directly. Which fragments map to which units, and in what quantities, is still being mapped by the community — pending verification (待核验).

Leveling materials

Upgrades consume materials from dailies and exploration. Exact material names and costs vary by patch and are not yet confirmed — pending verification (待核验).

Gameplay loop

A stable week for a marionette keeper looks like this:

  1. 01

    Assemble the lineup

Keep one unit of each combat class — attack, support, defense — so the roster can adapt to dungeons and open-world events.

  2. 02

    Accumulate daily

Clear the story-adjacent and daily activities that pay out fragments, leveling materials, and draw currency. The accumulation is the cultivation.

  3. 03

    Deploy in combat

Take marionettes into dungeons and exploration for their attribute bonuses and active skills. The 灵视 control window is where the system shines in boss fights — mind the duration.

  4. 04

    Rotate and specialize

As the roster grows, promote a lead unit per class first and park the rest. Spreading resources evenly is the classic mistake covered below.

Rewards

The shape of the payoff is confirmed; the quantities are not.

Combat attributes

Deployed marionettes raise base stats and lend their skills to the team, covering attack, support, and defense contributions.

Stand-in and exploration utility

A marionette can step in as a substitute during combat and appears in the open world — some events and puzzles are built around bringing one along.

Portable power

A developed marionette is strength that carries across modes, from dailies to endgame dungeons. Exact stat deltas or power budgets are not published — pending verification (待核验).

Common mistakes

Four habits new keepers fall into:

  1. 01

Treating it as a cosmetic pet

A marionette is not a skin: its attributes and skills are combat content. A raised roster that never deploys is pure loss.

  2. 02

    Ignoring the control limit

The lore-faithful mental backlash is a real constraint. Holding control past the safe window can backfire mid-combat — watch the timer and the status warnings.

  3. 03

    Spreading resources flat

Leveling every unit equally starves your vanguard. Pick one lead unit per class before anything else.

  4. 04

    Chasing tier lists too early

Meta lists are still settling after launch. While the version is young, covering all three roles usually beats owning a single "best" unit.

FAQ

Q1.Is 秘偶 the same thing as 宠物?
Yes. 宠物 is the community nickname; the in-game name is 秘偶 (marionette). Both terms point at the same cultivation system: acquire, bind, level, deploy.
Q2.When does the system unlock?
Community reports agree it opens in the main story at the 秘偶之眼 node, granting 灵视. The exact level or quest index is not confirmed — pending verification (待核验).
Q3.Do I have to pay to raise marionettes?
No. Story grants, tarot draws, and fragment synthesis all feed the roster. How far the paid track pulls ahead depends on rates and reward volumes that are not yet confirmed.
Q4.Can marionettes enter every mode?
They deploy in story, dungeons, and open-world content per community reports. Mode-specific restrictions, if any, are still being mapped — pending verification (待核验).
Q5.What is the mental backlash about?
For novel fidelity, the system taxes sustained control: past the safe window you inherit the vessel's residue — memories and death obsessions — as a penalty. The exact penalty details are community-reported (待核验).
Q6.Which class should a beginner start with?
Community advice favors keeping one support and one defense unit early, then specializing once the roster widens. The story grants alone do not dictate a build.
